Dear Landlord,

I'm writing to you to ask for your help with a piece of research we're carrying out at Cambridge University. As you may be aware, over the last few months various pressure groups, think tanks and political parties have been suggesting bringing in rent controls in the private sector in the UK. We've been asked to consider the practical impact of these proposals on landlords, to help them decide what their policy should be on these issues.
