The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015 - Statement of principles for determining financial penalties
DASH attends the LGA forums alongside our colleagues at Leeds City Council who kindly shared their statement of principles with the group.
They will apply when exercising powers to require a relevant landlord to pay a financial penalty in relation to the smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm regs.
As you are probably aware all councils are required, under these Regulations, to prepare and publish a statement of principles which they must follow when deciding on the amount of a penalty charge needed so we thought that sharing a ‘ready done’ one may help.
The statement was jointly prepared by Leeds and other West Yorkshire who have all agreed this or a very similar format.
