Syrian Refugee Resettlement – Information Evening & Community Meal
Nottingham City Council would like to invite you to attend an information evening on Tuesday 26th September about Syrian refugee resettlement in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. With the invaluable support of landlords such as yourself, we have been able to create safe, clean and secure homes for nearly 40 vulnerable refugee families across the city and county over the past two years.
During this session, we will discuss:
-
Context of the Syrian conflict, and background to the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme.
-
Updates on resettlement progress made locally.
-
Information about the benefits of getting involved by pledging property to the scheme.
-
Details of what we can offer you in terms of ongoing tenancy support, void costs and support with non-capital refurbishment costs.
You’ll also have an opportunity to meet some of the 175 people we’ve been able to support on their resettlement journey, and to speak with landlords who have already offered homes for use in the scheme.
We would also be grateful if you would join us for a community meal, including Syrian food cooked by individuals we have resettled in the area since 2015.
This will take place on Tuesday 26th September at GMB, 542 Woodborough Road, Nottingham, NG3 5FJ, from 5pm to 8.30pm.
