The regulations which make the changes for increasing the length of notice to six months in England have been published. As from 29th August the minimum notice period for seeking possession will be six months by default, and will be in place until 31 March 2021.
However, Regulations published on Friday 28th Aug 2020 mean that landlords will only need to give tenants who have committed anti-social behaviour, four weeks’ notice of their intention to repossess a property.
Those who have committed acts of domestic violence will only need to be given two weeks’ notice.
So the notice has become extremely complicated and varies according to which ground you seek possession on.
