Have your say in the review of the Housing Health and Safety Rating system
The Housing Health and Safety Rating system (HHSRS) is a risk assessment system that Local Authorities use to work out the risk to health from deficiencies in residential properties. For private rented homes in particular, it acts as the first step before considering which powers under Part 1 of the Housing Act 2004 should be used.
HHSRS was developed many years ago and is currently under review by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). RH Environmental Ltd have being appointed to carry out the research and views are being sought from interested parties, including letting agents and landlords.
