Gedling Council's new Selective Licensing Scheme - Phase 2 - have your say.
Following the implementation of selective licensing in Netherfield, Gedling Council are consulting to extend the scheme to four focussed parts of the borough to make privately rented homes better for people to live in.
The areas subject to this consultation are parts of:
- Colwick
- Carlton Hill
- Daybrook and
- Newstead Village
The consultation is open to anyone including residents, landlords, and managing agents.
DASH urges all landlords to have your say on the proposal to make it mandatory for persons having control of private rented properties to obtain licences within the proposed areas.
As with Netherfield (phase 1) the licence contains a number of conditions aimed at ensuring properties are suitably managed and gives the Council extra powers to tackle substandard property management.
The Consultation is open now until 4 January 2021.
During the consultation period Gedling Council are also seeking to hold a virtual meeting for landlords, DASH will of course be in touch nearer the time with information on this and we would urge you to attend if you can.
