BEAM Best Practice Workshop for Local Authority Officers
DASH Services is always looking at sharing best practice from across the UK & homelessness is one area where there has been quite a lot of innovation taking place recently.
Many will know DASH led with the introduction of the Call before You Serve (CB4YS) 'up stream' homeless prevention service for Landlords as well as offering our now UK wide Landlord Accreditation Scheme. DASH is also leading on a Supported exempt Accommodation service to help improve this sector.
During our travels we have come across the work of BEAM (https://beam.org/company-impact) which is an integrated employment and housing service partnering with over 80 local authorities across the UK, including the following East Midlands Local Authorities:
- Hinckley & Bosworth District Council
- Blaby District Council
- Nottingham, City Council
- South Holland District Council
- East Lindsey District Council
- Boston District Council
In the last 7 years, Beam has moved 860 households into a private rented sector tenancy and supported 1,672 individuals secure employment so obviously this sparked our interest at DASH (as well as how engaging the Beam team were)
Beam has partnered with our neighbours at Hinckley and Bosworth Council to support 60 residents into stable work and homes and DASH were keen to see if any good practice could be shared from this service
DASH has arranged this session so we can all hear from Beam's Partnership Lead, Fiona Kempster, and Hinckley & Bosworth's Head of Housing, Madeline Shellard.
Fiona and Madeline will talk through the pilot, share key learnings and case studies they have been involved in. The aim of the session being to share best practice and learn from each other’s experiences.
The workshop is FREE to attend & open to all Local Authorities (priority given to DASH subscribing members)
